Le Club Hippique
De Maurice
Founded in 1950, the Club Hippique of Mauritius is the oldest equestrian center in Mauritius, offering a rich legacy of equestrian culture in the region. Located in the serene suburb of Floréal, the club shares its premises with the Guy Desmarais Equestrian Center, which was built in 1968 to accommodate and train nearly 150 racehorses as an alternative to the Champ de Mars of Port Louis. With over 560 members, the CHM is home to a stable of 19 ponies and 54 horses
Founded in 2003 on the remains of the former sugar estate of Schoenfeld, the CEN directed by Marc Fichter (FEI level 3 and FEI tutor) gathers 150 members for a stable of 27 horses and 13 ponies. The three qualified coaches teach at the pony club and to adults and experienced riders in the three equestrian disciplines.
Established in 2014, Cavalia is a riding school with 150 members. Founded by Stephanie Jauffret, this equestrian center supports the learning of acrobatics, dressage, and show jumping with a stable of 45 horses and ponies.
Mon Rocher Stables opened in January 2019 following the transfer of the former Louisa Equestrian Center founded in 2008. Mon Rocher currently operates with the assistance of four instructors. Mon Rocher has over 200 members and a stable of 74 horses and ponies.
Based in the wild south of the island, the Centre equestre de Riambel is operational since 1999. It provides unforgettable horseriding experiences on the beach or in nature and also horse-riding lessons. With 8 Certificates of Excellence and 2 Travellers’ Awards from Trip Advisor, Centre equestre de Riambel is rated no 1 in Mauritius for horse riding outdoor activities. Being the smallest club of the MESF, it’s rustic infrastructure and cosy ambience is family oriented for those who want to learn horseriding.
